Weekly Bulletin: 11th January 2016

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to all our Year 9 parents who attended the Parents Evening last week. We would also like to make you aware of the upcoming Year 9 Choices Evening, which will take place on Thursday 21st January 2016. We hope that the evening will be able to enhance the information that you already have, to enable you and your child to make well informed decisions relating to Key Stage 4 option choices for Year 10 and 11. This week your child will receive a booklet containing lots of information on the courses available and will also be attending assemblies delivered by different faculties on each day. For more details on the choices evening click here.

Next week we have a group of students going to the Chill Factore in preparation for the Austria half term ski trip. The first session will take place on Tuesday 19th January after school, with another session following on Tuesday 26th January. These sessions will give the beginners an opportunity to get used to the kit and for friendships to form.

Don’t forget we have our ”Bags2schools” collection taking place on Thursday 21st January. Bags have been made available to students; however any bag will be acceptable. Our record collection was just over £300, which we hope to beat this time.

On Friday 22nd January there will be a joint PTA and Afritwin event in school. Tickets are £10 each or £60 for a table of 8. The event will include the local covers band “The Athertones”, which features several members of teaching staff from the school, as well as a bar and snacks. In the past these events have been great fun, so do come and join us in raising money for our school and school charity.

Finally, we have been receiving lots of enquiries regarding the 2016-17 term dates, therefore we have published our dates on the website under ‘Parents’ on the main menu. You can also view them by clicking here.
