On Monday students need to be in school by 8:20am where they will meet their form teachers on the English yard to register, they will then be taken to a Year 7 assembly. There will be staff positioned at the front of the school to show students where the English yard is when they arrive if they are unsure. Please be aware if you are dropping your child off at school that the first buses start arriving at 8am, from this time traffic on the school site gets very busy, we do ask that you do not park in the bus bays as this can cause delays.
Students will have their fingerprint taken on Monday morning so that they can purchase food from the canteen, this can take time to process so may not be done by break time therefore you may need to send them with a snack on the first day. You should have received a letter over the holidays giving you the log in details for ParentPay, this will mean that you can add money to your child’s account enabling them to buy food. Students will be able to get lunch on Monday and we will be letting them go slightly earlier from lessons to give them time for lunch.
Timetables will be given out during form time after the assembly and the pupils will start their normal lessons after break time. Students will be dropped off on the English yard by their teacher after each lesson and picked up by their teacher for their next lesson to ensure that they find their way to their room on time.
I hope that all students have had a restful holiday, I was very impressed with how well they all coped with the transition day and I am sure that once they get in and started any nerves will disappear and they will have a wonderful time. I am looking forward to seeing all of the students again on Monday.
