This is open to all Commonwealth citizens aged 18 or under (there are two age related categories, Junior and Senior). The competition offers young people the opportunity to make their voices heard on a global platform. It encourages students to consider ‘An Inclusive Commonwealth’, delving into themes of identity, diversity and belonging to communities. Although the competition is called an essay you can use a range of formats – for example, a poem, letter, folk tale, script or essay. There are 4 possible titles/questions in each category to theme the work around. Each category will have a winner and a runner up who will be flown to London for a week of cultural and educational visits and all entries published by the RCS. There will also be a number of Gold, Silver and Bronze awards and certificates of participation. Please see the link below for more details. If you wish to enter you will need to see Mrs Wardle to organise your individual registration number and book time for support. Closing date is 1st May 2016.
