Year 7 and 8 students undertook an engaging careers activity on Thursday 7th March to coincide with Careers Week.
Each student heard from four employers in a carousel-type activity, which aimed to ignite curiosity and inspiration about future career paths. Ten enthusiastic employers from various fields took part in the event, each sharing insights into their educational journeys, career experiences, and the diverse opportunities within their respective industries.
The event provided a dynamic platform for students to interact directly with professionals from fields such as chemical engineering, bespoke packing, career coaching, life coaching, retail, recruitment, project management, and marketing communications. These volunteers offered glimpses into their careers, sharing anecdotes and offering advice.
Students posed questions to the visiting employers, demonstrating their eagerness to learn about different career paths and the journeys taken to achieve success. One of the most frequently asked questions was about earnings.
By engaging with professionals in this interactive manner, students gained valuable insights into the array of career options available to them. Hopefully, this will ignite a spark of curiosity and ambition for their future endeavours.
The activity not only provided students with a wealth of ideas and inspiration but also highlighted the importance of early career exploration and planning.
Thank you to all of the employers who took part in this important activity.
