A Level and BTEC Certificate Collection

Dear Parents/Carers and Year 13 Leavers (past students),

Following the cancellation of the certificate collection this week due to the severe icy conditions and school closure, we have rescheduled it for next Tuesday 14th January 2025 in the Lower Hex between 3 and 4pm. We are confident that by next Tuesday, the ice will have thawed and the site will be safe for everyone.

This will be a great opportunity for students to catch up with staff and share their news, however, we understand that unfortunately a lot more students will already have returned to university by then, therefore if your child would like to nominate and authorise someone else to collect them at this time on their behalf, the student should email myself to confirm this (if they haven’t done so already)

Since your child’s old Lymm High school email address has now been disabled, I would be very grateful for your help in sharing this information with them yourself and with anyone else you know to whom this information is relevant.

It’s important to note:

These certificates are official evidence of your child’s qualifications and should be kept safe, as they may need to produce them for jobs or further studies in the future.

  • Only the student can collect their certificates, as they are required to sign for them.
  • If your child is unable to collect them, they can nominate someone else to do so on their behalf. To arrange this, the student must email Mrs Hughes lhughes@lymmhigh.org.uk in advance, giving permission and naming the person who will collect the certificates.
  • If certificates are not collected on this day, they can be collected from Main School Reception / Exams Office after 14th January by prior arrangement. To arrange this, please email exams@lymmhigh.org.uk.
  • Please be aware that the school only keeps certificates for 12 months. If they are not collected within this time, they will be returned to the exam boards. Replacements must be requested directly from the exam boards, and this can be a costly process.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing your child on Tuesday 14th January 2025.

Teams guidance for online lessons – Friday 10th January

As tomorrow’s lessons will be on Teams, we kindly ask that you take a moment to look through the guidance on how to log in here, especially if you’re unsure about how to get started.

We understand that this is a little last minute, and there’s absolutely no need to panic. If you’re able to join, that would be fantastic – but don’t worry if you can’t.

Remember, the most important thing is not to stress!

If you run into any issues or need help, please reach out to our IT team at ithelpdesk@lymmhigh.org.uk, and they will be happy to assist.

Thank you for your understanding, and we’re looking forward to seeing you online tomorrow!

KS3 work for Thursday 9th January

Please spend today revising for your upcoming KS3 exams (20th – 24th January). The timetable is here so you can see when your exams are.

  1. Watch the recorded assembly from Ms Dixon about the KS3 exams (attached here).
  2. Click here for a blank revision timetable which is explained in the assembly – now use this to create your own – you can either print or type directly into it.
  3. This is the link to the KS3 revision guide for your January exams: KS3 Revision Guide_January 2025
Please use this today to complete revision activities suggested in the ‘how to revise’ video from Ms Crowder, and on the subject pages that have been set by your English, Maths and Science teachers. Please try to stick to the normal lesson times and take a break for lunch. Rotate between English, Maths and Science, doing no more than 30 mins of a subject at a time.
  4. Also check Class Charts for any additional revision activities for your exams that your own subject teacher may have set you.

Year 9 Choices

At this stage of Year 9, it is time to consider students’ choices for KS4 and ultimately those subjects they will achieve their first external qualifications in. We know these are big decisions and would like to reassure students and parents that there will be a great deal of support on offer during the Year 9 Choices process, which is about to start.
