Year 7 reading tests
All Year 7 students will complete a reading test next week lasting about 30 mins in one of their lessons. It is a computer-based test. If they have earphones with an aux jack on the end, please ask them to bring them in on the relevant day. If they don’t have any, don’t worry, we have spares. This is something we do with all students to identify whether they need additional support with reading so that they can access the curriculum fully and ultimately be successful at school. It really is nothing for them to worry about, even if they find reading more difficult, so please do reassure them. It is an adaptive test, which means how easy/difficult they find the previous questions determine the subsequent ones. It is therefore really important that students try their best so that, later on, we tailor intervention to those students who most need it. The times for each form are:
7AL – Mon 25 Sept, period 1
7AH – Mon 25 Sept, period 4
7DL – Mon 25 Sept, period 1
7DH – Mon 25 Sept, period 1
7ML – Fri 29 Sept, period 5
7MH – Mon 25 Sept, period 4
7TL – Mon 25 Sept, period 2
7TH – Thurs 28 Sept, period 3
7WL – Mon 25 Sept, period 4
7WH – Mon 25 Sept, period 2
Students should go to their normal lesson to meet their teacher who will then take them to complete the test.
