The environmental costs of fashion…Every year we all buy a Christmas jumper, but only wear it once or twice! How many jumpers have you got from previous years?
There has been a lot in the news recently about the devastating impact of toxic chemicals used in growing cotton. Polyester is the most popular fabric used for fashion. But when polyester garments are washed in domestic washing machines, they shed microfibers that add to the increasing levels of plastic in our oceans.
On Friday 30th November you will be able to recycle your old Christmas jumper and purchase a new one in time for this year’s Santa Dash! All jumpers will cost just £3 – a bargain!
If you have an old Christmas Jumper, bring it into school during morning registration between 21st-29th November, washed and ready to sell, and drop it off at the atrium. Our Christmas jumper sale will take place on Friday 30th November in the main hall during break time.
Don’t go adding to the issues we are faced with, recycle and support a good cause!
